Blocked Lint Filter

A partially blocked filter restricts airflow, meaning the dryer runs longer to compensate. Clean after every cycle.

Partially Blocked Vent (Vented Models)

A partially blocked vent does not trigger overheating but does extend drying times significantly. Check the vent hose is clear and as short and straight as possible.

Moisture Sensor Fault

Sensor-dry models use metal bars in the drum to detect moisture. If they are coated with fabric softener residue, the machine thinks clothes are dry before they are. Clean the sensors with a dry cloth.

Weak Heating Element

An element that is partially failing generates less heat, extending drying times. Full replacement restores normal drying: £80–£140.

Overloading

Too much laundry prevents the drum contents from tumbling freely. A full drum dries much more slowly than 3/4 full.
