Why Are Clothes Still Damp?
Wrong Programme or Time Selected
Check you are using the right programme for the load type and size. A cottons programme runs hotter and longer than a synthetics programme.
Moisture Sensor Fault
On auto-dry models, dirty sensors end the cycle early thinking the laundry is dry. Clean the sensor bars inside the drum with a dry cloth — they look like two parallel metal strips.
Heating Fault
If the dryer produces no heat, clothes will tumble but not dry. Check the element, thermostat, and thermal fuse. Element replacement: £80–£140.
Condenser Blocked (Condenser Models)
A full or blocked condenser cannot remove moisture from the air. Clean it monthly.
Overloading
Air cannot circulate properly in an overloaded drum — halve the load size and see if the problem resolves.
